Hawkbill blades function very much like an animal’s claw, collecting the object being cut and drawing it into the concave edge to generate highly focused cutting power. This makes them the perfect tools for cutting netting, line, and other fibrous materials—especially when they’re water soaked.
Spyderco’s Tasman Salt takes the voracious cutting power of a hawkbill blade profile and renders it in H-1 steel—an advanced nitrogen-based alloy that is completely immune to rust. Available with either a Plain Edge or aggressive fully serrated Spyder Edge, the Tasman Salt’s blade also features a full accessible Trademark Round Hole™ for swift, positive, one-handed opening with either hand.
The blade is paired with an ultra-lightweight handle injection molded from tough fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN). The handle features a Volcano Grip texture that ensures a secure grip, even in wet conditions, and houses a sturdy back lock mechanism that locks the blade securely open when in use. A reversible black-coated titanium pocket clip supports left or right-side, tip-up carry to keep the Tasman Salt poised, accessible, and ready when you are.
This version of the Tasman Salt features a black injection-molded FRN handle.
